Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 18, 2026
Overview
This Privacy Policy explains how Neo Torrent (the Android app) and this website, published by Illusion Apps (“we,” “us,” or “our”), handle information. Please read it carefully. If you do not want information processed as described (for example, do not submit feedback), do not use those features.
Neo Torrent is designed so that torrent activity stays on your device. We do not operate Neo Torrent accounts, cloud libraries, or app-level analytics that send usage data to us.
Who is responsible
For information described in this policy, the organization responsible is Illusion Apps. This policy covers only our app and this marketing website, not Google Play, your ISP, BitTorrent peers, trackers, or other third parties.
The app: data on your device
Torrents, download files, library metadata, and settings remain on your device under your control. Theme and preferences are stored locally (for example via Android SharedPreferences). There is no Neo Torrent account and no cloud sync of your library or settings to our servers.
- No analytics SDKs operated by us
- No crash-reporting SDKs that phone home to us
- No accounts or sign-in
- No built-in VPN product
You are responsible for securing your device, backups, and anyone who has physical or remote access to it. We cannot recover, delete, or modify data stored only on your device.
BitTorrent network traffic
When you download or seed, Neo Torrent participates in the BitTorrent peer-to-peer network. Participation in the BitTorrent protocol inherently involves direct communication with other network participants. Traffic goes between your device and other peers, trackers, and related network infrastructure. That traffic, and information such as IP addresses, torrent identifiers, and connection metadata, may be visible to your ISP, network operator, peers, trackers, and other third parties in the same way as with other BitTorrent clients.
Neo Torrent does not operate servers that store or relay your torrent contents. We do not control what peers or trackers collect, retain, or disclose. We are not responsible for third-party monitoring, logging, or legal requests directed at network participants other than us.
Fetching .torrent files over HTTPS
If you add an HTTPS URL that points to a .torrent file, the app fetches that file over HTTPS from the server you specify. Fetches are HTTPS-only, private and local network addresses are blocked, and response size is capped. This only happens when you choose to add a URL.
The remote server you contact may log your request (for example IP address and URL). That is outside our control. Do not fetch URLs from parties you do not trust.
Permissions and device features
The app may request Android permissions needed for its functions (for example storage or notifications for background transfers). You can deny or revoke permissions through system settings; some features may then be unavailable. We do not use permissions to build advertising profiles or to sell personal data.
This website
Theme preference on the site is stored locally in your browser. We do not use analytics cookies or third-party advertising trackers on this site.
Hosting, DNS, CDN, or security providers that deliver this site may process technical logs (such as IP address, browser type, and request time) as part of operating the infrastructure. We may have access to technical server logs generated by our hosting providers for security, abuse prevention, and operational purposes. We do not use those logs to identify you for marketing. Those providers may retain technical logs under their own schedules, which we do not fully control.
If you submit the feedback form, we receive the name (optional), email, and message you provide so we can reply. Feedback is delivered using an email delivery provider (currently Resend) acting as our service provider. That provider processes the information needed to send the email. Feedback is not used for advertising or sold to third parties. Do not include passwords, financial data, or other sensitive information in feedback.
When you submit feedback, we may set a strictly necessary cookie (or similar local signal) to limit repeat submissions and reduce abuse. This cookie is not used for advertising or cross-site tracking.
How long we keep feedback
Feedback and related email correspondence are retained only for as long as reasonably necessary to respond, improve the product, prevent abuse, or meet legal obligations, after which we may delete or anonymize them. Hosting and email providers may retain technical logs or message copies under their own schedules, which we do not fully control.
Sharing and sale of data
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We may share information only: (a) with third parties that help us operate the Service, including Google Play (for app distribution), hosting providers (for this website), and our email provider (currently Resend, for feedback delivery), under obligations to use it only for that purpose; (b) if required by law, legal process, or government request; (c) to protect rights, safety, or property; or (d) in connection with a merger, acquisition, or asset transfer, subject to this Privacy Policy or equivalent protections.
Children
The Service is a general-purpose tool and is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 where a higher digital-consent age applies). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Parents or guardians who believe a child has submitted personal information through the feedback form may contact us via the feedback form, and we will take reasonable steps to delete it.
International users
If you contact us from another country, your feedback may be processed where we or our email and hosting providers operate. We process feedback to respond to your request and operate the Site. Where a cross-border transfer mechanism is required by law, we rely on appropriate safeguards used by our providers and/or other lawful bases. Consent is not our primary basis where another lawful basis applies.
Your choices and rights
Because app data stays on your device, you can delete it by clearing app data or uninstalling the app. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of personal information we hold (primarily feedback), and to object to certain processing. Because App library data stays on your device, we generally cannot access or delete it remotely. To exercise rights regarding feedback we hold, contact us; we will respond as required by applicable law.
Security
Although we take reasonable security measures for systems we operate, no system can guarantee absolute security. Please use care when transmitting information over the internet.
Third-party links and stores
Links to Google Play or other sites are provided for convenience. Their privacy practices are their own. Installing the app via Google Play is also subject to Google’s terms and policies.
Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy and will revise the “Last updated” date when we do. For material changes affecting personal information we hold, we will take additional steps where required by law. The updated policy applies to information processed after the effective date. If you do not want to continue under an updated policy, stop using the Site features that involve personal information (such as feedback) and uninstall the App if desired.
